Most used and least used print option

This blog is about me using these print options. I am not saying it about others.

I notice myself using the print copies number a lot. I am mostly printing 100 of copies of my file for work sometime. I also use the paper size option because we always need to be sure that the paper size is appropriate to your need. There are many paper size options from A4, legal, B5, executive and others. The most common type of printing size file is the A4 which is of size 8 x 10 inches.

The least used print option for me is the paper collation. Until today, I did not know the utilization of it. As per the chapter 3.3.2 of IS101 and also my classmate Shane, collations are used when we need specific number of copies of the individual pages. I think it is mostly used by teachers and legal offices.

Hope this helps you guys. Let me know what print options do you use the most.

  1. For recent projects at work, my most often used print setting is changing to print in color as the multi-purpose printers at my workplace are defaulted to print in black & white.

3.3.2 Office Printing Facts definitely illustrated many print option settings :-)

Paper collation is actually about ordering of pages when printing multiple copies, not necessarily individual pages. For example, when I printed 20 copies of all 9 pages of the syllabus for IS101-3003, Spring 2023:

If I did NOT choose [Collate], the printer would print page 1 (20 copies), page 2 (20 copies),... page 9 (20 copies).

If I DID choose [Collate], the printer would print all 9 pages (1 copy) once, all 9 pages (1 copy) second time,... all 9 pages (1 copy) ninth time.

  2. Printing has been costly at my job and they resorted to using black & white copies only unless permitted. 😒

  3. For me, being able to print on both sides of the paper has been a game changer for me. Also learning how to go into the print dialogue and check if the printer can do so has been enlightening. I never thought to so that.

  4. The printing options I use at work is the common 8 by 10-page size and the most pages i've had to print before was probably around 40 but thankfully printing on both sides saves paper!

  5. I only use the print button for printing my English essay. I will just click on "print" and "OK."

  6. It's great that you've found which print options work best for you! Collation happens to be the most used print option I use in my workplace and it's an essential feature at our office. :)

  7. After understanding that you also write books, I can understand why the printing function has become something very familiar for you lol. Thank you for sharing!

  8. This makes a lot of sense, I don't print many copies of documents, usually just labels. I couldn't imagine having to print hundreds of copies of anything!

  11. As a paralegal I'm going to have to print a lot of things because everything has to have a paper trail, so no evidence or fact is lost.
